5 most injury-prone football players in 2021
Football-related injuries are part of the modern game. Every professional soccer player will have, at one point or the other suffer an injury no matter the level of severity. Despite this fact, there are, however, a few footballers who always seem to get sidelined through injuries. Through no fault of theirs, these individuals always seem to get the rough end of the stick, barely featuring for their respective teams due to one injury or the other. Today we spotlight some of these seemingly jinxed individuals.
Here are the top injury prone football players in 2021.
1. Ousmane Dembele
To say the French man has had a torrid time at FC Barcelona since his transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 is putting it mildly. The winger has had to endure one injury or the other since his move to Camp Nou.
Dembele has so far suffered 12 injuries, mostly hamstring-related, which have tended to keep him out for months on end. This, in turn, has seriously affected his performances with Barcelona, where he has been severely criticized for his poor showings. His terrible injury record has also generated speculation of when he will be sold. So far, he has featured only three times this season.
2. Eden Hazard
3. Marco Reus
4. Sergio Aguero
The great former Manchester City forward has had to endure a horrible two years that will culminate in him having to retire prematurely due to heart-related issues. Kun Aguero suffered an injury-filled last season with the Cityzens before his move to Barcelona. He suffered a calf injury before he had even kicked a ball in anger for the Catalans. This kept him out for roughly 3 months. His return, unfortunately, led to a scary incident in a league match where the Argentine complained of chest pain. He was later diagnosed with a heart problem and looked set to call time on his career as a result of this.
5. Aaron Ramsey
Another player who always seemed to get the rough end of the stick regarding injuries. The former Arsenal man suffered quite a few injuries, while with the Gunners. His move to Italy didn’t really change much as he has still dealt with the odd injury here and there.
